I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am a clinical psychologist, in practice for over twenty years, with an eclectic style. I combine psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and educational approaches, depending on you and the issues you choose to focus on.
I utilize an interactive approach, and consider therapy a joint venture, i.e., both of us working to achieve your goals and resolving the issues that are getting in your way. These issues might include: alleviating depression and/or anxiety, resolving old emotional wounds, acknowledging and changing destructive intimacy patterns, improving existing relationships, working on ways to move forward in your career or help in transitioning to a new one, guidance through passage of life stages (e.g. new children, job changes, separation/divorce, death of loved ones, aging parent issues).
In addition, I have experience in helping people with early sobriety issues, support in overcoming infidelity and betrayal, and healing from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I also work with a number of people in creative fields and aid them in addressing those issues unique to these endeavors.
I do not take managed care but will work with you with your insurance.
Looking for a therapist is a difficult task which is usually undertaken when you are already under stress. Be sure to take the time to find someone you connect with, even though you may feel pressured by your own unhappiness to begin treatment quickly. It is not only acceptable, but preferable, to talk to several therapists in order to find the one with whom you are most comfortable. I highly suggest you choose a therapist who is licensed, thereby guaranteeing that your therapist has met rigorous standards of professionalism.
Thank you for your time and good luck in your search.
